The 2022 Maui Steel Guitar Festival was held in two locations: The Shops at Wailea in Wailea on Saturday, October 15, and the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center in Kahului on Sunday, October 16. Both festivals featured identical programs with O‘ahu steel guitarists Alan Akaka, Bobby Ingano, Greg Sardinha, Joseph Zayac, and Maui steel guitarists Geronimo "Geri" Valdriz, Konapiliahi Lau, and Joel Katz. NextGen keiki steel guitarists Mālie Lyman, Joey Misailidis and Tai Misailidis also performed. Backup musicians Kaipo Asing, Joseph Zayac and Helene Woodward assisted, and several hula dancers, including Kapuanani, Kathy Collins, Verdine Kong, and Maile Keawe Bryan, offered their hula to festival guests.
